Historical Conference on Nepal-China Women's Cooperation

Kathmandu. In the women's conference held at the invitation of the Foreign Affairs Office of Sizang Tibet Province of the People's Republic of China, the topic of Nepal-China women cooperation was discussed. In the conference held in Lhasa city of Sijang Autonomous Region from November 8 to 12, women's rights, law and Tibetan healing methods, as well as cooperation between the two countries in the development of women's entrepreneurship, tourism, herbs and handicrafts were discussed.

Reena Rana, a member of the Tribal Commission, led the Nepali women's delegation at the conference. This is the first formal women's conference between the women of both countries in the 70-year journey of Nepal-China diplomatic relations. According to Rana, a member of the Commission, the conference further strengthened the friendly cooperation between the two countries and identified new ways of women's development.

In the inclusive Nepali delegation, Shobha Gyawali, President of Women Entrepreneurs Federation of Nepal, Sunita Vaidya Shrestha, Vice President, Kalika Khadka, Journalist of National News Committee 9RSS0, Nida Don Malla, Vice President of Youth Entrepreneurs Forum, Nida Don Malla, etc. participated.

During the observation of the Tibetan healing system by the Nepali delegation, the participants' health was also examined. Rana, a member of the commission, said after the health examination, "Tibetan treatment method is cheap, simple and very similar to Nepalese tribal treatment method. The possibility of providing training for it in Nepal has been expressed positively, which is very good."

From women's rights to economic development, there was a detailed discussion between the women of Nepal and China about the legal development of women's rights, the situation of women in receiving government services, health, education and entrepreneurship. Experiences and ideas were exchanged between the representatives of both countries in the fields of women's economic production, social access and leadership development.

At the conference, Ouyang Zhibing, Deputy Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Sizhen Province, expressed her happiness that the conference was the first formal collaboration initiated by women in the 70 years of Nepal-China friendship.
