Ghodejatra festival is being celebrated today, a public holiday in Kathmandu Valley

The Nepali Army will perform horsemanship, motorcycle sports, physical exercise, martial arts and other things in Tundikhel today. It is believed that the Ghode Jatra is celebrated as a tradition of trampling the children of the city after the demon named Gurumapa, who lives in the east-south direction of Tundikhel, tramples the children of the city.
Even today in Lalitpur there is a tradition of celebrating Ghodejatra by running a horse. The government has declared a public holiday in Kathmandu Valley today.
