"Get information about the weather before going on a hike, don't go on a trip alone"
Kathmandu. The government has requested to get the necessary information about the weather forecast issued by the Department of Water and Meteorology before going on a trip to the Himalayan and high mountain areas. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has requested to get information about advance notices and 'alerts', and to get information about the risk of flooding before going on a hike.
Similarly, it has been requested to make the necessary preparations for the trek and stop the journey at Lake Lagihale and start the treatment process and not go on the journey alone. In the last two days i.e. on the 8th and 9th of October, four people died in the lake in Manang and Kaski, while one Spanish citizen has been brought to Kathmandu for treatment. The authority has expressed deep sorrow for those who lost their lives due to the lake and paid emotional tributes.
Besides, expressing deep condolences to the family members of the deceased and wishing for the speedy recovery of those who fell ill due to the lake, it is stated in the statement issued by the spokesperson of the authority, Shanti Mahat.
