Kathmandu. Joint General Minister of Nepali Congress Badri Pandey has announced that he will not be a candidate in the upcoming House of Representatives elections. Participating in the ongoing candidate recommendation process in Bajura, Pandey said that he would not contest the election saying that he would lead the party from other responsibilities to strengthen it. He has made it clear that he will not stay in the candidate recommendation process and give others an opportunity to contest the election.
In the 2079 elections, the KP Oli-led government, which was ousted after the Pandey Genji movement defeated UML leader Karn Thapa from Bajura, made him the tourism minister. According to Pandey, as there was a big incident in the country when he was a minister, it was decided not to contest the election this time, taking moral responsibility for it.
He said, there is a feeling that the demands of the protesting youth could not be addressed in time. Although I do not have a direct role in the interaction, I also have a moral responsibility as a member of the Council of Ministers.
