Gagan Thapa's call to move towards a prosperous Nepal by strengthening the foundation of democracy

Kathmandu. On the occasion of the National Democracy Day, Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has called for protecting the democratic achievements and advancing towards building a prosperous Nepal. While issuing a greeting message on Thursday, he remembered February 7 as the glorious day when the modern history of Nepal began under the leadership of the Nepali Congress.

Mentioning that the people's revolution of 2007 brought an end to the 104-year-long autocratic Rana regime and established democracy in the country, he said that day paved the way for economic, social, cultural and educational transformation along with political change.

"February 7 (the glorious day when the modern history of Nepal began under the leadership of the Nepali Congress). On the occasion of this glorious day when the historic people's revolution of 2007 ended the 104-year autocratic Rana rule and established democracy in the country, I wish all my Nepali sisters and brothers a very happy and prosperous day," Thapa said through his greeting message.

He mentioned that Nepal has taken a bold step from the medieval feudal structure to the modern democratic journey through this movement and said that democracy has built the foundation of strong nationalism, civil rights and people's participation.
