Former UML MP Lakshmi Mahato Koiri arrested

Janakpurdham. Lakshmi Mahato Koiri, former MP of CPN-UML has been arrested. After the Janakpur High Court sentenced him to five years imprisonment on Wednesday, the police arrested him from his residence Nigaul in Gaushala, Mahottari.

Earlier, Mahottari District Court had acquitted Koiri in Thaman Wick murder case. The public prosecutor's office filed an appeal in the Janakpur High Court against the decision. In the same case, the judge of the high court overturned the decision of the district court and sentenced Koiri to five years of imprisonment.

The police arrested him after the order of the court.
