Former IRGC commander Mohsen Rezai appointed as Iran's top security chief

Kathmandu. Iran's Supreme Leader Mujtava Khamenei has appointed former IRGC chief Mohsen Rezaei as the secretary of the country's highest security post, the Supreme National Security Council. Along with being appointed to this post, Rezai will also serve as Khamenei's representative in the council.
This pos was previously held by Ali Larijani, who was killed in an American-Israeli attack last March. Mohammad Bakir Zulkadar was holding this responsibility after Larijani. The newly appointed Rezaei is the former head of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He is also a member of Iran's Expediency Discernment Council, which resolves disputes between the Parliament and the Guardian Council.
