Former Home Minister Gurung's investigation is over, the committee asked for 5 days to prepare the report
Kathmandu. The high-level committee formed to investigate former Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has completed its main task of investigation. Although the deadline has expired on Monday, the committee has requested an additional 5 days from the government to complete the report.
According to the committee, the process of taking Gurung's statement and collecting the necessary evidence has been completed. However, the committee has sent a letter to the Prime Minister's Office stating that more time is needed as the report writing work and analysis of some additional evidences are yet to be done. The government has not yet made a formal decision on this.
Controller General Shobhakant Poudel and associate attorney Achyutamani Neupane are members of the three-member committee formed on May 28 under the chairmanship of former high court judge Achyuta Prasad Bhandari. The committee is mainly investigating former home minister Gurung's property dispute, share investment in businessman Deepak Bhatt's company, land exceeding the limit and various disputed land purchase and sale issues.
