Five consecutive public holidays from today
Kathmandu. As the government has decided to give public holidays on Monday and next Tuesday, there will be public holidays for five consecutive days across the country. Earlier, due to Srikrishna Janmashtami and regular Saturday holidays, it was decided that there would be three days off, but the latest decision of the Council of Ministers has added two days off.
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers meeting, Rasuwa will be the focal point and a public holiday will be given in honor of those who lost their lives due to the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River on August 22nd, 9th Monday, celebrating the National Day of Mourning.
According to Hindu traditions, the government has decided to observe national mourning on the 13th day of the disaster. On that day, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in government offices across the country as well as in Nepali diplomatic missions abroad. Similarly, it has been decided to give a public holiday across the country on Tuesday, August 23rd, on the occasion of 'Jenji Martyr's Day'.
With this decision, the general public and government employees will get five consecutive days off, with Sri Krishna Janmashtami on Friday, regular holidays on Saturday and Sunday, National Mourning Day on Monday and Genji Day on Tuesday.
