Financial statements of companies applying for IPOs will now be subject to mandatory review

Kathmandu. The Nepal Securities Board has implemented a system to review the financial statements of companies applying for initial public issue IPO through accounting experts. The board has issued the 'Standards for Revision of Financial Statements, 2082' and said that it will be implemented from the 1st of Baisakh. The board has made it clear that such arrangements have been made to make the financial statements of the companies transparent and factual. According to the new standards, the financial reports of the companies applying for IPO will be reviewed if abnormal conditions are found.

Under the general criteria, the audit of the last three financial years, the financial statements of the last year and the interim statements will be examined. There will also be a review if a large part of the sales income is reflected in the trade receivables, if the financial standards are not met while adjusting the tax liability or if there is a high turnover with related parties.
