Film promotion on Pashupatinath Aarti, controversy on social media
Kathmandu. The issue of promoting the film 'I Am Jit Bahadur' before the evening aarti of Pashupatinath temple has created a controversy. The Aarti organized on the last day of the month of Purushottam was attended by the cast of the film including Jitu Nepal, Priyanka Karki and Varsha Raut.
The devotees have expressed their displeasure saying that the program started later than the scheduled time as the film promotion and the names of various donors were announced before the Aarti. After the incident, after the criticism on social media, actress Varsha Raut has clarified that she only went to participate in the Aarti and had no prior information about the promotion of the film there. This incident has sparked a debate on whether or not commercial activities can be carried out in the Pashupatinath area, which has religious and cultural significance.
