Electronic passport from the new system
Kathmandu. Citizens will now get electronic passports distributed by the government through a new system. The passport department has informed that the necessary preparations for issuing passports through the new system have reached the final stage.
In the past, electronic passports that were distributed through the technology of France's Idea company are now about to enter a new system by being printed in collaboration with two German companies. On February 28th, the department issued a notice to the beneficiaries that the passport services provided by the District and Area Administration Office and the Nepali Mission abroad and the services provided by the department may be closed for a few days while moving from the current system to the new system. Recalling the information, the department has clarified that passports will be distributed through the new system soon.
