Main News Image

Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority has started cutting the lines of industries that have not paid premium tariffs. Kulman Ghising, who was removed as the Executive Director of Electricity Authority for trying to collect 8 billion 26 million dues of 49 industrialists, has implemented his campaign after becoming the Minister of Energy. In the past, during load-shedding, the authority has cut the lines of 6 industries, which were reluctant to pay the tariff by consuming electricity from dedicated and trunk lines, on Tuesday morning.

The authority has cut power lines of Jagdamba Steel, Reliance Spinning Mills, Shivam Cement, Ghorahi Cement, Arghakhanchi Cement Industries and Triveni Spinning Mills. Jagdamba has Rs 1 billion 60 crore, Reliance Rs 75 crore 37 lakh, Shivam Rs 77 crore 88 lakh, Ghorahi Rs 50 crore 85 lakh, Arghakhanchi Rs 44 crore 84 lakh and Triveni Rs 32 crore 10 lakh. This arrears is due to additional fees for using dedicated and trunk lines from January 2072 to April 2075. Executive Director of Electricity Authority Manoj Silwal said that the counter has been arranged so that the dues of the industry can be paid even during the public holidays of Tihar.
