Election Commission's decision to recognize Gagan Thapa party

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has officially recognized the Nepali Congress led by Gagan Thapa. On Friday, the commission decided to give official status to Thapa-led Congress. According to Section 51 of the Act on Political Parties, the Commission has decided to give official recognition to the Thapa party by updating the details.
Acting Chief Election Commissioners Ram Prasad Bhandari and Janaki Tuladhar have officially recognized the Gagan Thapa group as Congress. Sagunshamsher Rana is said to have a different opinion on the commission's decision. Gagan Group organized a special convention in Kathmandu from December 27 to 30. Officials including Thapa, who were elected as president from the special convention, submitted an application to the commission on Thursday, and the commission has recognized the official Congress.
