Durga Prasai will remain in police custody for 25 days

Kathmandu. Medical practitioner Durga Prasai, who was arrested at midnight from her residence in Bhaktapur, will be prosecuted for the crime of disturbing public peace. In this crime, there is a legal provision for investigation by police custody for a maximum of 25 days.
Accordingto Kathmandu district police spokesperson SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, he was arrested on the basis of correspondence sent by the Election Commission. Bhattarai said that the Election Commission has written a letter to the District Police Complex, Bhadrakali, saying that his activities and expressions have affected public peace. According to the decision of the commission, keeping him outside even for a moment would be a big challenge to public peace and he was arrested at night.
Spokesperson Bhattarai said that as soon as the office hours start to detain Prasai, he will be presented to the district court for extension.
