Main News Image

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has rejected the writ against the officials of the Commission of Inquiry formed to investigate the incidents that happened during the Genji movement on August 23rd and 24th. The full bench of Supreme Court judges Manoj Kumar Sharma, Nahkul Subedi and Srikant Poudel decided to dismiss the writ against the commission's chairman Gauri Bahadur Karki along with its members Vigyanraj Sharma and Vishweshwar Prasad Bhandari.

Advocate Bipin Dhakal filed a writ claiming that the commission's chairman Karki and other officials had already made public their opinions related to the subject of the investigation and had shown prejudice that the truth of the incident would not come out from their investigation.

The writ petitioner had sought an interim order to prevent the officials including the chairman from doing any work of the commission until the writ is finally decided.
