Director General Aryal arrested in passport printing corruption
Kathmandu. Director General of Passport Department Tirtharaj Aryal has been arrested in the case of irregularity related to the purchase of passports. He was arrested by the Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission. Aryal was arrested by the authority for investigating irregularities in passport printing. Also, the commission has arrested the contractor Siddharth Thapa and is investigating.
In this case, some high-ranking officials of foreign affairs are also under investigation, according to authority sources. According to authority sources, the authority was investigating suspected irregularities in the procurement of e-passports and related materials by the passport department. It is said that during the same investigation, Director General Aryal was taken into custody and the process of collecting statements and additional evidence was started.
