Leader Koirala reached Deuba's residence on Friday morning and met former chairman Deuba. Koirala's personal secretary Dinesh Thapalia informed that the current political situation, disputes within the Congress and maintaining party unity were discussed in the meeting.

Lately, there has been a controversy within the Congress regarding the issue of the Speaker. Polarization within the party has increased after the Deuba group went ahead with the indication that they will not accept Gagan Thapa as the chairman.
