Kathmandu. The internal power struggle within the Nepali Congress has come to the surface again. A group close to the party's former chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba and leader Prakashman Singh Khadka has prepared to organize a national meeting after the completion of the National Assembly elections.

After Gagan Thapa was elected as the Congress President through the special convention and the Election Commission formally recognized it, the party's founding party, which was left out of the party leadership, has intensified its separate political activities. According to Gagan Thapa's decision, this group, which has become dissatisfied after the party election process has progressed, is preparing to publicize its views through a meeting.

It is said that the party's current and former office bearers, central members, former members of the National Assembly and House of Representatives, General Committee members and Congress representatives will participate in the national meeting where the project is being prepared. According to the sources, some important decisions regarding the future direction and strategy of the party are also being taken from the meeting.

The Deuba-Khadka side emphasized on the need to proceed based on the policies, principles and historical ideals of the Congress and accused the current leadership of being oriented towards a single decision. Claiming that the party chairman is trying to become autocratic, they say that the national assembly is necessary to keep the leadership in 'balance and control'.

With this development, there are signs that the internal dispute within the Nepali Congress will flare up again.
