Declaration of unity between Prachanda and Gopal Kirati

Kathmandu. An important agreement has been reached between the coordinator of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and President of Patriotic Samajwadi Morcha Gopal Kirati with the aim of addressing the instability and dangerous situation emerging in Nepali politics. The two leaders issued a joint statement announcing the decision to pursue unity and polarization among the revolutionary forces as the primary political task of the day.

The statement said, "Unity and polarization among revolutionaries of the country has become a primary duty under the policy of turning every adversity into favor during the people's war." The main points of the agreement include the formation of a task force to objectively review the past ideological, political and organizational weaknesses, the concept of socialist democracy with a patriotic identity presented by Gopal Kirati and the decision on the basis of democracy after detailed discussion within the party, and the decision to polarize the Marxist revolutionaries within the Maoist center for the implementation of the said agreement.
