Contracts of 25 construction companies that did not work according to the contract were terminated

Kathmandu. The government has terminated the contract with 25 construction companies that did not complete the construction as per the contract. Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office Kathmandu under the Road Division Kathmandu has informed that the contract has been broken with 25 construction companies that did not complete the construction on time.

The office said that the contract was broken because the work could not be completed within the stipulated period despite repeated requests. Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, instructed the subordinate agencies to break the sick contracts to end the trend of taking contracts but not working and stalling the projects.

Earlier, the Road Division Office, Kathmandu, had asked for an explanation from the 25 construction businessmen concerned on October 11th as to why they would not terminate the contract. As the answer to the explanation was not satisfactory, the contracts from the financial year 2067-68 to 2079-80 have been canceled today.
