Kathmandu. Tundi Power Company has simultaneously constructed two hydropower projects on the Rahughat River that flows through Raghuganga Rural Municipality of Myagdi. Ghuganga Rural Municipality-4, 7 and 8 Ward No. 4, 7 and 8 of the two projects of 84 MW capacity are connected to the electricity central system.
Pushpa Dangi, the company manager of Tundi Power, informed that after the testing of the project of the nature of 'Run of the River', the commercial production has started. "Chimkhola-Rahughat-Mangale with a capacity of 35.5 megawatts promoted by Tundi Power and Upper Rahughat hydropower project with a capacity of 48.5 megawatts as a 'cascade' have been put into operation", he said, "Chimkhola-Rahughat-Mangale has started commercial production since last July 20. It is in the stage of commercial production.

Manager Dangi said that the projects built during four years can be operated at full capacity according to the available water resources. According to him, the estimated cost of both projects is 13 billion. Resident engineer Prakash Timilsina said that the electricity generated from these projects is temporarily connected to the national system from the 'switchyard' of the Rahughat hydropower project in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-3 Tilkenichaur. According to him, 39 towers have been constructed from Chimkhola to Rahughat.

A 110-meter long, eight-meter high and 30-meter wide water-cooling pond has been constructed near the dam in Raghuganga Rural Municipality-8 Bandi of Chimkhola-Rahughat-Mangale. A 950-meter penstock pipeline has been installed to drop the water brought from the dam through a five-kilometer, 300-meter long tunnel to the power plant at Bagar in Raghuganga-7 Chimkhola. Engineer Timilsina informed that the height of the outlet of the tunnel from electricity is 360 meters.

Electricity has been generated from Chimkhola-Mangale-Rahughat by using water from Chimkhola-Mangale-Rahughat and Bagarkhola of Chimkhola. Raghuganga Rural Municipality-4 The tunnel of Upper Rahughat, where the power house is located at the foot of Dagnam, is 4,900 meters long. A 680 meter long penstock pipeline has been connected from the outlet to the power house.
