Kathmandu. The central committee meeting of Nepali Congress held under the chairmanship of Gagan Thapa has taken 6 decisions. Six decisions were taken at the meeting chaired by President Thapa on Saturday. The meeting welcomed the latest decision of the Election Commission and decided on issues such as party unity, upcoming elections and the role of former chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba.
According to spokesperson Devraj Chalise, the meeting interpreted the Election Commission's decision as a victory for law and democracy, not anyone's defeat.
Chalise said that the meeting thanked Deuba for his long-term leadership of the party and also expressed his belief that he would be given a parental role in the future.
The Congress has reiterated its commitment not to enter into any unnatural alliance or power-centered agreement from now on. The meeting has decided to defend the constitution and address the aspirations of the youth while sticking to the values and beliefs.
