Kathmandu. Congress leader Abhishek Giri, who has a gangster background in Biratnagar, has been arrested. The police raided his house on Saturday morning. Soon after, he was taken into custody by the police. According to the Morang police, Giri was arrested for running an illegal extortion business in the prison. Since morning, the police had surrounded Giri's house and ransacked it.
The police did not disclose what was recovered from Giri's house. Chief Superintendent of Police Kabit Katwal of District Police Office Morang informed that the police conducted a raid on the suspicion of keeping suspicious items and informed that further studies are being conducted.
