Congress in crisis with old faces, new leadership inevitable: Umesh Shrestha
Biratnagar. Umesh Shrestha, the treasurer of Nepali Congress, has pointed out the need to bring new, literate, enterprising and subject-expert youth to the leadership instead of complete style and face. In a special conversation with Nepal News Bank, he expressed a clear opinion about the current political, economic and social situation of the country. He linked the recent Gen-G movement with the youth's frustration and desire for change, and said that the main reason for this was the lack of employment and policy weakness.
According toShrestha, education is the basis of the overall transformation of the country. Since the current education system is not employment-oriented, young people are forced to go abroad. Therefore, he emphasized that skill-based and practical education is necessary from the school level. He said that the government should make a policy to encourage the private sector and not to do business.
He mentioned that both healthy competition and cooperation are necessary within the party and he said that decisions should be taken above factions.
