Congress General Minister Poudel's 15 point proposals for economic reform

Kathmandu. General Minister of Nepali Congress Pradeep Paudel has announced 15 points opinion on economic reform. He said that the Congress should no longer limit itself to slogans and should change the 'operating system' so that economic transformation leads to results. Presenting the public opinion through a video statement, he said that sustainable development is not possible with the current distribution-oriented and dependent economic structure. According to him, there is a situation where the guidelines of the economy need to be re-determined by focusing on production, self-reliance and savings.
He mentioned that the economy limited to the export of labor and sweat should be transformed towards the export of knowledge, skills and intellectual capital. He emphasized on the need to create an environment to directly connect the talent of small entrepreneurs, youth and remote areas with the international market by making maximum use of technology.
General Minister Paudel said that education, banking system, legal structure and foreign policy should be coordinated within one economic ecosystem. He is of the opinion that the university should be developed not only as an educational institution but as a 'research and innovation center'.
Mentioning that legal complexity has become a major obstacle to Nepal's economic growth, he said that the second phase of economic reform is necessary. He argues that complicated laws that block development and investment should be replaced by the Supreme Umbrella Act.
