Complaint to Ministry of Home Affairs demanding cancellation of Balen's citizenship

Kathmandu. A complaint has been filed in the Ministry of Home Affairs demanding the cancellation of the citizenship of Balendra Shah Balen, a senior leader of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party RSWP. Yuvraj Safal of Kathmandu 31 filed a complaint at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday. As Shah has voluntarily changed his surname, Safal has demanded to cancel his citizenship. 

It has been claimed in the complaint that although Balen had the surname 'Sah' in his citizenship certificate obtained from Mahottari on 6th December 2063, he changed his surname to 'Shah' when he took the copy of his citizenship on 19th June 2079 after becoming the mayor of Kathmandu. It has been claimed that the citizenship should be revoked because he submitted false information and changed his surname.
