Chumchet Syar Khola hydropower project was built in Chilime

Kathmandu. The government has granted power generation permits to three more hydropower projects. The Power Development Department under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has granted power generation permission to the Chumchet Syar Khola hydropower project. The capacity of the project is equal to 45 MW.

The project site of the project to be built by Chilime Hydropower Company is in Chumchet of Gorkha. The project to be built on the Budhigandaki river is of river flow nature. The project will generate 348 gigawatt hours of energy annually. The generated electricity will be connected to the proposed New Budhigandaki Proc substation. A total of 110 km long will be connected through a 220 KV transmission line. The transmission line is being constructed by the National Broadcasting Grid Company.

Syar Khola is another important project for the Chilime Hydropower Company, which lacks projects as projects like Rasuwagadhi, Sanjen and Madhya Bhotekoshi have been completed. Similarly, the department has granted power generation permission to Middle Likhu hydropower project. The project is 8.60 MW. The project will be constructed at Sanghutar in Ramechhap.

The department has also granted power generation permit to Chomrong river hydropower project. The project to be built by Ghandraku Hydro is equal to 4.89 megawatts. So far, the department has granted power generation permits to 263 projects. The total capacity of those projects is equal to 11 thousand 97 megawatts. The department has granted power generation permits to 13 hydropower projects so far this year.
