Kathmandu. Due to the partial effect of the western low pressure line 9 trough and local air in the upper atmosphere of the country, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms in different areas. According to the Water and Weather Forecasting Division, at present, most of the Himalayan and hilly parts of the country, including Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, are generally cloudy, while there is a partial cloudy in Terai. Light rain with thunder and lightning is occurring at a few places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

According to the division, it will be generally cloudy in the hilly parts of the country including Koshi province and partly cloudy in the rest of the hilly areas including Madhes province. In the rest of the Terai, the weather is expected to be mainly clear.

There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi province and some places of Himalayan and hilly parts of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Also, it is said that there may be rain and snowfall in one or two places in the rest of the Himalayas including Madhes Province.
