Kathmandu. Currently, the country is affected by a western low pressure system as well as local winds. In addition, it is generally cloudy in hilly and Himalayan areas including Koshi, Madhes and Bagmati provinces and partly cloudy in the rest of the Terai region, according to the Department of Water and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division. Some places of Koshi and Madhes provinces and some places of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are experiencing moderate rain and snowfall.
According to the division, it will be generally cloudy in hilly and mountainous areas of the country and partly cloudy in Terai. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall along with thunder and lightning at some places in hilly and Himalayan areas of the country and a couple of places in Terai area of Koshi and Lumbini regions. Similarly, it will be mostly cloudy in the hilly areas of the country tonight, partly cloudy in the rest of the hilly areas, while the weather will remain clear in the plains. There is a chance of light rain and snowfall along with thunder and lightning at a few places in hilly and Himalayan areas of Koshi and Gandaki regions.
