Bhotekoshi flood: 12,000 rescued, 1,300 bodies found, 5,000 still missing

Kathmandu. So far, 5,384 people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi river have received medical treatment. Thousands of citizens have also been affected due to the flood.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 304 of the affected people are being treated in various hospitals. Similarly, 3 thousand 206 people have received treatment through the Nepali Army and 1 thousand 874 people through the Armed Police Force.

According to the authority, 12,038 people have been rescued alive from the flood-affected areas so far, of which more than 3,000 people are currently taking shelter in various holding centers. Shanti Mahat, spokesperson of the Authority, informed that food, health and basic services are being provided to the rescued people in a safe place.

Similarly, 5 thousand 83 citizens are still without contact due to floods. Security agencies and other related teams have been mobilized rapidly to search for them.
