Bamjan Acquitted in Money Laundering Case

Kathmandu: The Sarlahi District Court has acquitted Ram Bahadur Bamjan, known as the Little Buddha, in a money laundering case. On Baisakh 8, a bench led by Judge Mahendra Raj Kafle ruled that the charges in the case were not substantiated and declared Bamjan not guilty.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had filed the case against Bamjan, seeking compensation of Rs 859 million. Earlier, the court had ordered him to be held in custody pending trial, and following the verdict, he has been released from Sarlahi Prison.
