Kathmandu. Bhaitika is being celebrated today, the main day of Tihar. For those who do not have sisters, it is customary to open Balagopaleshwar temple in the middle of Ranipokhari in Kathmandu. Balagopaleshwar Temple opens only on this day once a year. On the days of brothers who don't have sisters and brothers, they go to this temple for worship, darshan and make tika.

Similarly, in the Khanjaneshwar Mahadev temple in Jaywageswari, there is a practice of worshiping and offering darshan to those who do not have sisters and brothers.
After the year 2035, the Balagopaleshwar temple inside Ranipokhari started opening regularly. Bhaitika's day is celebrated by the Newar community as Kijapuja.
