Kathmandu. A case of money laundering has been filed in the Kathmandu District Court against Jeevan, the director of Mashta Group Pvt Ltd, involved in the 61 kg gold smuggling case. According to the indictment, it has been confirmed that he laundered a total amount of more than 2.7 billion rupees from illegal sources. His relationship with Belgian citizen Dawa Chiring is also seen. On July 3, the Revenue Investigation Department recovered the gold hidden inside the brake pad of the motorcycle. Later, the investigation was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) and it was concluded that 302 kg of gold had been smuggled. In this case, a case related to gold customs theft, smuggling and organized crime has been filed against 29 people, including claim fraud, fraud. The committee has also recommended action against some police officers involved in the investigation and cases against some political and foreign related persons.
