As the new system is implemented, passport services will be affected from June 24 to 26
Kathmandu. The passport department has prepared to upgrade the passport issuing system and implement new technology. Due to the change in the system, the passport service provided by the district and locality administration offices and Nepali missions abroad will be affected for a few days.
The department issued an urgent notice on Thursday and said that the passport service will be operated regularly from June 29 through the new system. The department had already made public the information that the service may be temporarily affected during the system change.
According to the notification, the services related to the collection and distribution of passport applications provided by the district and area administration offices and Nepali missions abroad will be completely closed for three days from June 24th to June 26th. Similarly, the passport service which is being directly provided by the passport department in Kathmandu will be suspended for two days on June 25th and 26th, the department said.
