Around seven lakh new voters were added as the voter registration period ended

Kathmandu. The time extended by the Election Commission for the update of the voter list, conducted targeting the upcoming election of members of the House of Representatives, is ending from midnight tonight. Before that, the time for registering the list was given till November 30th, but based on the pressure of registration of new voters and the request of the concerned parties, the Commission extended the time till November 5th. 

In the meantime, the commission said that about seven lakh new voters have been added and all the confirmed details after midnight will be released soon. Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said that the added number is encouraging. After the Commission made it possible to register names in the electoral roll based on the details of the National Identity Card, the number of people registering their names online increased further.
