Main News Image

Kathmandu. Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising has intensified the monitoring of various projects. Minister Ghising, who visited the Kamala River Bridge in Dhanusha yesterday, inspected the Gokarneshwar Municipality-5 Jambudanda area under the Bagmati River Corridor in the Guhyeshwari-Gokarna section this morning. In that regard, Minister Ghisingh has taken information about sewage management, road upgrading and sanitation in the Bagmati River Corridor area.

In the Jambudanda area, the sewage has mixed with the river. The road in that area has also been damaged due to the failure to repair the sewers. Although contracts have been awarded for the repair of sewers and roads, the work is not satisfactory. Minister Ghising has instructed the builders to increase manpower within a month after taking information about the repair work.

Mentioning that the city will be clean only if the river is clean, he said that in order to clean Bagmati, the work of sewage management, repair of corridor roads and removal of garbage thrown in the river has been given high priority.
