Adding date of commercial production of hydropower projects

Main News Image

Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority has prepared to add RCOD to the final date for starting commercial production of hydropower projects that have not been able to start commercial production due to various reasons despite the PPA.

The Authority has put forward a new RCOD management policy by classifying the hydropower projects into four different groups based on the on-site condition of the construction, the condition of fulfilling the obligations mentioned in the PPA and the overall physical progress.

The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Authority held on 32nd June has taken a formal decision to classify the projects that have PPA but have not yet been put into commercial operation into 'A', 'B', 'C' and 'D' groups.
