Acute risk of bird flu in the valley: More than 6 lakh chickens destroyed

Kathmandu. The bird flu infection that has been spreading in Nepal for the past three months has now become especially concentrated in the Kathmandu Valley. Director General of Animal Services Department Dr. According to Umesh Dahal, infection has been confirmed in 11 districts across the country so far.

Recently, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur and Kavre districts are at high risk of infection. Although regular monitoring and sample testing are being done through laboratories across the country, no new infections have been observed in other areas except Kathmandu Valley. Therefore, the department has now focused all its attention on controlling the infection within the valley as soon as possible.

So far, bird flu has been confirmed in more than 80 small and large poultry farms across the country. After the infection was confirmed in samples from five more places last time, the control work has been started by deploying a technical team.
