Active traffic police in the valley, about 200 people in action

The police said that due to the active presence of the police, there were no major accidents during the festival. "On the day of Tihar, there were 16 normal two-wheeler accidents in Kathmandu Valley," Nareshraj Subedi, Spokesperson of the Traffic Police Office and Superintendent of Police said, "A team including the Chief of Traffic Police was deployed on the road on the day of Tihar. Due to the activeness of the police, there were no casualties."

According to him, only 199 people in the valley have been prosecuted for driving under the influence of alcohol. Also, 15 people were slightly injured.

According to Head of Valley Traffic Police Office and Senior Superintendent of Police 9SSP Navraj Adhikari, security measures were strictly implemented during Tihar. He said, 'CC camera surveillance was increased against careless driving during Tihar, traffic police had a significant presence on the roads.' According to him, policemen were constantly engaged in traffic management in busy areas such as New Bus Park, Koteshwar, Ratnapark, Kalanki, Chabahil through Bhaktapur, Lalitpur. He said that he himself was working on the road all day.
