Speaking at the program, former executive director of Rashtrabank and economist Dr. Gunakar Bhatt stressed that the problems seen in the microfinance sector should be found through common efforts and initiatives. He recalled that there are not only problems in the microfinance sector, but also a lot of potential, and he expressed his belief that the contribution of microfinance will be important in making the economy sustainable. Bhatt said that it is not possible to say that the entire microfinance sector has become a problem just because there is a problem in some microfinance.
Bhatt suggested that the microfinance sector should share its issues with the government, regulatory bodies and stakeholders, saying that the problem is the same as the solution.
