Jhapa. A wild elephant has been found dead in Dandagaon located in Buddhashanti rural municipality 3 of Jhapa. Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Jhapa, informed that a wild male elephant was found dead in the field of Lal Bahadur Rasaili of Dandagaon on Tuesday morning.
After receiving the information about the incident, the police team of the area police office has secured the scene, while the team of the division forest office, Jhapa, has reached the scene and is making preparations. According to the District Police Office, further investigation is being conducted in connection with the incident.
Along with this, there have been two elephants in Jhapa in the current financial year alone, said Himal Pathak, Forest Officer, Division Forest Office, Jhapa. Four people have been killed so far this year due to elephant attacks.
