A slight improvement in the stock market; why is it fluctuating?
Kathmandu. The market has broken its streak of declines for the fourth consecutive day. Today, the market saw a slight improvement. Although the market rose by a small margin today, there is no atmosphere of enthusiasm among investors. As the market remains sluggish, investors have begun to feel that their investments are disappearing like water poured on sand.
The Securities Board of Nepal, Sebon, remaining without leadership is also being seen as a major reason for the decline in market sentiment. Delays in the appointment of new leadership and in the institutional reform process have created a lack of policy clarity. As investors remain in a 'wait and see' position over what role the incoming leadership will play in improving the market, it has not been possible to create an immediate positive atmosphere, according to analysis.
Although banks and financial institutions have published their financial statements for the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2082/83, their impact has not been seen in the stock market as expected. Even though the financial condition of most institutions appears satisfactory, it has not been able to restore confidence in the market. Despite positive indicators, the market has not responded as expected
