A gang that married a Nepali girl to a Chinese man was arrested
Kathmandu. Four Chinese nationals have been arrested for illegally running a 'marriage bureau' in Nepal. They were arrested by a team of the Immigration Department from the Sohrakhutte-Milijuli Chowk area of Kathmandu. According to Director of Immigration Department Tikaram Dhakal, preliminary research has shown that they are working to marry economically weak Nepali girls to Chinese men. According to the department, there are three men and one woman among those arrested.
According to the department, they are not clear on the question of what their real business is, even though their visas are professional while they are living in housing. In addition, the department said that it was found that they made Nepali girls to make tiktok and established contact with Chinese people through that to lead to marriage.
Information that some girls were sent to China in the name of marriage has also been revealed in the investigation. It has been found that the two arrested persons have been living in Nepal for the past 10 years on the basis of tourist, student and professional visas.
According to the law, there is a provision to fine up to 50,000 rupees and deportation to foreign nationals living illegally.
