A complete ban on the sale of plastic bags thinner than forty microns

Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has increased surveillance on the sale and distribution of plastic and plastic products with the aim of controlling environmental pollution. Last time, the department monitored 19 different plastic industries, importers and shops in the valley simultaneously, confiscated materials that were against the standards and issued instructions.

During the monitoring of plastic ban of less than 40 microns, the department has given strict instructions not to produce and sell plastic bags of less than 40 microns as they are harmful to health and environment. The department has given corrective instructions to organizations such as Niruj Plastic Industry, MN Plastic Industry, National Plastic Industries, Kunwar Furniture Industry, Diksha Store, Pashupatinath Enterprises and Universal Traders.
