According to Parshuram Adhikari, the head of Krishi Gyan Kendra, the farmers from all over the district did the business through the sale of potatoes, rice, cardamom, vegetable crops, maize and orange fruits.
Mainly potatoes and oranges are traded in the district. Rice, seasonal and non-seasonal vegetables, cardamom and original seeds of corn and cucumber are also being produced and sold.
In the last financial year, 72 thousand 950 metric tons of food crops were produced in the district. 33 thousand 120 metric tons of corn, 5 thousand 220 metric tons of wheat have been produced. According to the chief officer, 54 metric tons of barley, 100 metric tons of sorghum, 7,850 metric tons of millet and 527 metric tons of pulses were produced. The chief official said that 362 metric tons of oilseeds, 20 thousand 330 metric tons of potatoes, 12 thousand 610 metric tons of vegetables and 4 thousand 15 metric tons of oranges were produced in the district.
