64-point instructions to political parties regarding election code of conduct
Kathmandu. The Election Commission has issued instructions to political parties for the election of members of the House of Representatives. Before the start of the campaigning days, the commission issued a press release and published 64 points of instructions to be followed during election campaigning.
The election body has issued 64-point instructions for political parties and candidates to make the House of Representatives election to be held on February 21 clean, fair and dignified. According to the guidelines, actions such as preventing anyone from running, campaigning or voting, threats, financial inducements, social exclusion, display of weapons or explosives are strictly prohibited. It is also not allowed to influence voters through gifts, cash, trinkets, banquets or other inducements.
Political parties and candidates will be allowed to conduct processions, public meetings, corner meetings and door-to-door programs only from February 4 to 18. It has been arranged that no propaganda of any kind can be done from 48 hours before the polling till the counting of votes is completed.
