5 lakh more income in one year from flower farming

Walling. Tulsiram Bhandari of Chapakot Municipality-1 Chowghera in Syangja has been earning five lakhs more in a year from commercial flower farming. He, who is also a former teacher, has been cultivating flowers targeting Dasain and Tihar.
Bhandari, who retired from the teaching profession last June, said that he is making good use of his free time in flower farming. He informed that flower plants are planted in two stages targeting religious activities such as Dasain, Tihar, Chhath. He said that they have planted flowers in three plantation areas targeting Dasain and Tihar and two more plantation areas for production after November.
"Even though I was in the teaching profession, I did small amount of flower farming in the morning and evening", he said.
Bhandari said that after the monkeys destroyed the grain crops, they started cultivating hundred-leafed flowers as an alternative. He mentioned that he was not able to deliver flowers as per the demand of commercial production of flowers as an alternative to grain crops. "Demand for flowers and garlands has increased", he said.
