4 people, including the driver who was driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs, are under police custody
Kathmandu. 4 drivers who were driving under the influence of drugs were arrested during the traffic check conducted by the traffic police today in Sitapaila, Kathmandu. There are 3 passenger bus drivers and 1 taxi driver.
A joint team from Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Nepal Police Hospital and Narcotics Control Bureau checked the drivers of 18 vehicles this afternoon and found that 4 drivers of the vehicles were driving under the influence of drugs.
Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi has informed that they have been sent to the relevant police office for further investigation.
Driving a vehicle under the influence of drugs is illegal and punishable by the driver who is driving a sensitive vehicle such as carrying passengers, as driving the vehicle puts not only the driver's life at risk but also the lives of the passengers, so if the driver of the vehicle he is riding in is suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the passenger is requested to immediately report to the nearest police office, traffic control room hotline number 103 and police hotline number 100.
