Kathmandu. In the last one week, 439,492 passengers left Kathmandu Valley for Dasain. Traffic congestion on the highways has increased due to the large number of vehicles passing through various highways. At present, there is more traffic going out through Prithvi and BP highways.

Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has informed that with the opening of route permits for medium and long distance vehicles by the Transport Management Department, the number of passenger buses plying in the valley has decreased. There is a rush of vehicles going east and west from Nagadhunga and Koteshwar to East Terai. Bij Jaisi, director general of the road department claims that there is no road problem even though there is a lot of traffic going out of the valley.

"Wherever there were road problems, they have been solved and put into operation," Jaisi said, "so there is no road problem anywhere for Dasain." The Nagadhunga-Muglin road section, which has more than 15,000 vehicles passing by every day, is currently the most crowded. Suresh Paudel, Senior Divisional Engineer of the Development Assistance Implementation Division under the Road Department said that there is no problem in this section. Machines and manpower are deployed keeping in mind the traffic volume. According to the traffic police, there is no problem on Kanti Highway and Tribhuvan Rajpath, which are the other traffic jams.
